"Haveli" means, a palacial house in Western India. For long the word “HAVELI’ symbolized wealth and prosperity, wealthy traders use to commission master craftsmen to build these Havelis, with intricately carved wooden doors, quaint Jharokhaas , and fresco paintings.
It continues to be an, object of aspiration even today. And Food being an item, of prime importance, in India. In these Havelis too, during each meal time, there use to be lavish spread of traditional food for the entire joint family and their guests. |
